MK 2 is designed for the person who does not require all of the capabilities of the MK3 program but must have the custom design features not available with MK1.
MK2 can produce master key systems with up to four levels of keying for five, six or seven pin cylinders. It has design features which allow you to design symmetrical or asymmetrical key systems. It has an insert design feature which allows you to specify the quantity and distribution of combinations at every level of keying. It will do its calculations almost instantaneously. The results of this DOS program are displayed on-screen for your inspection, no wasted paper or waiting for a printout to see if the design worked.
MK2 will also draw a keying schematic on-screen as you design the key system. This schematic will be printed with the cover sheet for the system.
MK2 will pick a TMK, SOP and arrange the KBA for you, OR let you change them to produce the system you desire. This is especially useful if you have to regenerate an existing system to use the expansion originally built into it.
MK2 will let you specify constant cuts if you need them and you can tell it what the constant should be and where. MK2 also gives you the option of using the Rotating Constant Method of progression.
MK2 will display on-screen or print the pinning sequence for any combination in the system. It also knows how to calculate the pinning for the popular Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) cylinders. Locksoft’s MK2 and MK3 are the only software to offer the reverse pinning notation and factory procedures for the ASSA LFIC.
MK2 is supplied with manufacturer specification files which contain original manufacturer parameters and it will display them on screen. It will allow you to change them at your own risk. You can create your own manufacturer files. Manufacturer files supplied with the program are listed below:

MK2 does not offer the additional manufacturer files, cross keying, multiplex key system progression, changes direct under upper level keys or SKD key generation available in MK3.
MK2 does offer the ability to export all key system codes to a file which can be imported into our KRM1W or KRMW key management software through a single keystroke.
A working demo is available by clicking below. The working demo is limited by not having the ability to print or save the system. The complete program does not have these limitations and will automatically save every system generated to the hard drive. The password is ‘demo’.
To install the demo, copy MK3demo.exe to a separate folder, such as “c:\temp;” or a separate storage device, such as a USB drive, or even a floppy. Execute MK3demo.exe, to expand the compressed file, then run install.
The copy protection for this program uses a device called a Dongle that must be plugged into LPT1 to run in the fully authorized mode. That allows the software to be installed upon multiple computers but not run if the Dongle isn’t present.
